Not a lot of hotels in the downtown or surrounding areas offer restaurants, happy hours, and a coffee shop that gets you energized for another full day of boozy brunches and bar hopping. Our team was recently invited to stay at the stunning Thompson Hotel, located in the heart of The Gulch neighborhood in Nashville, Tennessee! This boutique hotel is located just steps away from Music Row, Honky Tonk Highway, and countless restaurants and boutiques in The Gulch. As soon as you walk through the hotel’s front door, you will be welcomed with the most amazing receptionists who make you feel right at home. This hotel’s atmosphere blends a classic country soul feel with a hint of urban sophistication within their 200+ guest rooms and suites, event spaces, restaurants, and so much more!
THE MARSH HOUSE
Who says you have to leave your hotel to have an a delicious meal?! After a full day out on the town, The Marsh House has the best version of a happy hour with their Oyster Happiest Hour which is active from 5pm to 6pm every day (Mon - Fri). For our seafood lovers, stay after their oyster happiest hour for their delectable dinner menu! Their dinner menu highlights the best elements of Southern cuisine by bringing Gulf Coast cuisine to Nashville. No dinner is complete without a fun drink(s)! Let their in-house sommelier pair one of their award-winning wines from their wine list to go perfectly with your dinner. Of course after your night out on Broadway, they also have the perfect brunch menu to get you carb-ed up and ready for another day in Music City featuring items such as a raw bar, avocado toast, and chicken and waffles. Don’t forget, a mimosa a day keeps the hangover away! Brb….gotta go make a reservation!
L.A. JACKSON
Head to the rooftop of Thompson Hotel for amazing views of the Nashville skyline at the well known, highly stylish, indoor-outdoor rooftop bar and restaurant, L.A. Jackson! One of our favorite parts about their lounge are the floor-to-ceiling windows so even if you opt to dine inside, you can still take in the views of downtown Nashville. They offer everything from a classic espresso martini to seasonal specialty cocktails for those who want to try something new. L.A. Jackson isn’t only known for their great cocktails…wait until you try their bar bites. If you really want Insta-wrothy pictures, you need to get their champagne glitter chicken…yes, glittery chicken. If you’re looking for an afternoon day drink or just a cocktail before your dinner reservation, we can’t recommend checking out L.A. Jackson. There’s a good reason L.A. Jackson was voted Nashville Scene’s Best Rooftop Bar 5 years in a row!
KILLEBREW COFFEE
Okay, but can Starbucks serve you coffee that sparkles?? Located right next to the Thompson Hotel lobby, is the neighborhood coffee shop, Killebrew. Now I know why they call it Killebrew because I would simply kill for another cup of their coffee. This coffee shop serves up French Truck coffee and a delicious selection of house-made pastries (10/10 recommend their giant chocolate chip cookie). Even if you’re not staying at the hotel, this coffee shop is a spot you don’t want to miss out on, especially if you want a little glitter to your morning coffee. Don’t forget to snap a pic for your Instagram to make all your friends jealous!
